Welcome to the first show of Game On! A new sport show on JOY 94.9 on every Tuesday from 7-8pm.
This show is all about you and how you can get your game on! It’s about presenting you with stories of where sport is fun, safe, inclusive and welcoming for everybody in the Rainbow community, and where you can be your authentic self. We’ll also set you up for sporting success by covering nutrition, fitness and mindset so you can make an impact on the track, on the field, on the court, on the pitch and on the podium across Australia and even around the world!
On the show tonight, we are joined by Pez – President of inclusive rugby team the Melbourne Chargers to tell us all about why it’s not whether you win or lose it’s how you play the game! (at 3 minutes 19 seconds)
Professor Michael Buckland, the Head of the Department of Neuropathology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney and neuropathologist at the Australian Sports Brain Bank tells us about his ground-breaking research into head trauma in contact sports and gives us advice on how to stay safe. (at 9 minutes and 3 seconds)
Then we head to the U.K. where we chat with Hen Cowen, Communications Manager – Performance England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) , Lord’s Cricket Ground about the incredible Rainbow Laces Campaign now in its seventh year and the amazing impact on the sport. (at 24 minutes and 10 seconds)
