Loving the chapter by chapter break down. Anthony is very well informed.
Good back and forth on ideas
Yes they can complain a bit, don’t we all? The material is well thought out, and there is a good back and forth between the hosts. And with the latest season they have added scholars and others to the mix as well. I enjoy the deeper looks into the book as well. Why do we love this series so much?
Linda is a racist piece of garbage
I am subscribed to no less than 10 ASOIAF/GOT related podcasts and this one is generally on par with some of the best. Usually quite entertaining and provides some fresh takes on a source material that has been analyzed and overanalyzed for decades now, which can be hard to do. I don’t usually go out of my way to submit ratings, but felt in this instance it was necessary. I would honestly rate the show 5 stars if it were not for the guest appearance of the super racist, fandom troll that is Linda Antonsson. All it takes is a brief 2 minute google search to find evidence of the atrocious things that she has said in the past, eventually leading to parts of the fandom petitioning GRRM to publicly denounce her. I feel involving her in this podcast has shown either a sever lack of insight, preproduction research on guests, or flat out tact by the hosts and producers of the show. I’ll continue to listen to episodes she is not involved in, but if she is involved often I will be unsubscribing and changing to a zero star rating.
Very insightful conversations. I love this podcast show! I laugh and also appreciate the deeper insight into the Game of Thrones that this show provides. I cannot recommend this show enough!
Well done, keep it up
Enjoyed the HBO series and started reading the books for the first time. I’ve really enjoyed this podcast so far, I hope you guys are getting enough sponsorships and plays to continue into the other books.
but, only sometimes, which leads me to wonder if it’s a real thing or just to intentionally seem quirky and idiosyncratic? The other hilarious aspect is Aron’s sterling vocabulary juxtaposed with never having even heard of many pretty standard words. He’s also one who reads too fast so spends more time correcting himself than it would take to do it regular speed in the first. Then, there’s the seemingly dozens of times every episode they (but, again, mostly Aron) say the wrong characters’ names then have to backtrack. The main one is Aron saying “Tyrion” instead of “Tywin,” and vice versa. You’d think after the first couple hundred times it wouldn’t keep happening, but there ya go. All in all, though, a well produced and extensive platform with something for everyone.
A+ GOT discussion.
This popped up in my recommended podcasts and I love it. Not sure why a Bald Move pod isn’t on the regular Bald Move feeds. This is a little like Binge Mode for the books but less jokey.
Understanding the details
I just discovered this podcast. It is very entertaining hearing the reactions and theories of GOT. I also gain a lot of knowledge that made rewatching GOT a better experience. Please never take this podcast away!
Would be better, but the tangents!
I love the podcast, or at least the sections that focus on GoT. Oftentimes he and the comic go off on random tangents about other shows or music that have absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand. I find myself fast-forwarding through these sections and have been tempted to just drop the podcast altogether. I would love the Ask Aaron Anything section IF they were asking him stuff about GoT. Seriously, what is with the tangents?
Love this podcast
Absolutely love love this podcast, the only one I subscribe to that I will listen to immediately! Please never take this podcast away from us
Exactly what I was looking for. Electric bookaloo is smart and entertaining.
Great GoT podcast!
Anthony does a fantastic job as the host, conversation starter, and as guide through George's complex world. He engages with fellow academics, comedians, and fans, to provide great insight and unique perspectives on themes, characters, and plot-lines. Let’s keep climbing the ladder of chaos in season 2! Rock on BOOK -a- LOO!
Smart. Fun. I love this podcast.
So, I had moved on from GOT as I wait and 🙄for Martin to give us new books. I had previously subscribed to the BaldMove GOT podcast so when this popped into my feed I thought, “Not A.ron? Hmmm...” But this very quickly became my favorite GOT podcast of all time. It’s like being in the best Lit class AND Drama Lit class, without having to write the papers but with all the good discussions. All of the guests are so smart and have multifaceted interesting points of view on these characters. Plus we get to deep dive on this incredible work of literature. And come on. How smart is Anthony? He’s incredible. I love GOT and as a book reader and show watcher, I find these podcasts thought provoking, entertaining and full of the little tidbits I haven’t thought about in ages. I hope they do all the books/episodes. I love everything about this podcast... and I listen to a lot of podcasts.
I really like this podcast. Keep at it!
Dive deeper into Game of Thrones
I love the combination of thoughtful academic talk about the book chapters mixed with a lighter segment covering episodes of the tv show. A great way to get your Game of Thrones fix each week!
New podcast with fresh perspectives on the best of Game of Thrones
This podcast is funny and insightful and brings back the fun and adventure I love from Game of Thrones.
Great podcast, really enjoy the thoughtful and informed scholars and philosophers of all types discussing an awesome series. I love that I’m learning about our society while getting new insights on GOT, which I can never get enough of, and the podcast is funny too. Keep climbing the ladder of chaos, and record more please!
Sleepy kitty, happy kitty...
One of the best podcasts out there
Love this podcast! Really thoughtful discussion with really smart people.
Electric Bookaloo is the best
I’m absolutely loving the Electric Booklaoo series. Such great analysis. All of Anthony’s guests are wonderful. I liked the Bald Move guys and always looked forward to their episodes and now Anthony is my newest must-listen podcast. BRING BACK LISA WOOLFORK!! I want Lisa Woolfork on every episode. Her perspective was so thought provoking. I would love to hear other African American History professors and intellectuals on the show as well. Coming at GOT from that structural/societal power theory was something I haven’t heard before and I want more! Thanks Anthony for bringing GOT back in such a thoughtful way! 5 stars would recommend!!
If you don’t mind spoilers not just from the show but from other media, this is a five star podcast
The host have a catch phrase, “mildly interesting“. It’s intended as tongue in cheek but it’s often abused and used like the phrase, “you’re getting warmer“. I don’t think it’s intentional, but I don’t see how after all these years and so many podcasts I can’t be aware that they’re doing it. What can be very aggravating is when they occasionally drop a spoiler from unrelated media like a movie or another show just in passing.
The absolute best GOT coverage. Period. End of story.
GoT ended badly, but Baldmove is still great.
Just because season 8 sucked, that’s no reason to stop listening to Jim & A-Ron. I’ve been listening to these guys for several years now. Every show they cover they do with an approach that helps me connect and enjoy the show more throughly. They give their overall impressions, and then a show recap, and then some listener questions and feedback. It’s really the perfect panel discussion. They could never be described as insiders, or the snobby, stuffy kind of podcaster. Just down to earth and relatable. An underrated element to their shows: their voices are pleasant to listen to. Good audio quality, timely releases. They also offer a monthly or annual club subscription to get your podcast ad-free and get right into the coverage. Highly recommend them for coverage of all your favorite shows and movies.
Enjoyed so much the thoughtful discussion.
I Miss GoT
I miss GoT and the reviews that this podcast provided for each episode. Loved how the hosts were able to analyze each episode
These guys work hard and do a great job.
One of my Favorites
These guys are some of the most entertaining reviewers in the Pod World. They bring deep insight, are funny and really help give me a break from real problems as I drive to and from work. They do a great job of incorporating the best fan questions into their pods and it takes the entertainment value to soaring heights. Thanks for all of the laughs Jim and A. Ron!
Love this podcast
Enjoy it live and the breakdown of past seasons. Wish the would not mention politics, in here for entertainment.

Don't waste your time!!!
They strike again, if you like Game of Thrones don't listen because they rip on the last episode like they do on every series finale they review! They should quit their day jobs!!!
Bad Wolf 09
Where's the Series Wrap-up?
Just listened to the 'Series Wrap-up' which was mostly about grading their 'predictions' from day one. What is it with so many podcasts that seem to be overly concerned with either flexing or whining that their killer predictions panned out or not... as if anyone gives an S? Where was the review?
GoT Git Gone
I enjoyed initially your recaps and observations about one of the most beautifully crafted tv shows. However your intense anger and hostility about how the final episodes did not meet your standards was simply obnoxious. It’s a shame because I enjoyed your insights. But you’ve taken it all to far. You ended up doing the same thing with westworld. Your not getting a third try. I’m done.
Used to be good till Aaron started knowing everything
Great companion to the show
I just started watching the show the day after the series finale. Wanted a podcast to help me follow along. Listened to a couple others but settled on this one. I’m 4 episodes in and these guys do a great job!
⚔️🐺🐉👩🏻🦳💀👧🏻👩🏻🦰🏰 👑 ⚔️
From “us” quitting the Walking Dead to the End of GOT, I have enjoyed you guys for years and years and years. Thank you. I will listen to your Stranger Things review when S3 drops. Tho I need a weekly tv show to run and listen to you two afterwards. Dead and Thrones were all I watched for years. I’m getting desperate now and might try to force myself to watch TWD, naw no Rick. Can’t do it. See on the GOT prequels maybe.👩🏾👍🏾
Thanks for the GoT pods
You guys are great. Love the honest feedback. Will check you guys out on your film and tv review podcasts.
I never missed an episode! Thanks dudes.
I’ve tried listening to around 7 different GoT podcasts and this one is the best. The hosts know their lore and have unique takes not just ripped theories from Reddit. Most importantly, they don’t try to be a “comedy” podcast and shoehorn bad jokes into their banter. Soo many GoT podcasts (cough binge mode cough) at unwatchable because of this. I tuned in after every episode for both the main cast and the spoilore one- sad to see the show go but I’ll definitely try the other bald move shows.

The Bald Move Game of Thrones podcast is by far the best podcast on the subject. The two hosts are extremely natural together and I've enjoyed re-listening to the whole of their catalogue several times. Well put together, laid out, researched, and discussed - definitely a cut above the rest. Check out their other podcasts as well. They also have pleasant voices as well which make for a much better experience. I've had problems with other podcasts were the content was fine but couldn't get over my dislike of the host's vocal presence. None of that here. I look forward to whatever Bald Move gives us next - THANKS FOR ALL THE HOURS OF HARD WORK AND SHARED FAN EXPERIENCE!!! It's been a great ride.
Smart and honest breakdown
As someone who is a big fan of the show and also frustrated by the rapid race to the finish line, I really respect the analysis and conclusions this podcast brings. Two guys who are obviously passionate about the show and also share my frustration. I think the critiques are genuinely honest and mostly inarguable. Have always looked forward to this podcast more than any other. Really big fan.
Best Review Podcast!
Great review podcast! Love their setup of three episodes over the course of the week to review one episode. Obviously true fans of GOT. Good balance of letting their honest emotions out and then being objective and talking through all aspects of the show. Thanks for getting me through the emotions of season 8!
Love Aron and Jim. Always a fun listen. Great insight into the show

Whiney and Negative
This was my favorite podcast for the last few seasons, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s always provided good analysis and commentary. However after episode 5 it’s turned into a podcast of how much you hate the show and how everything’s wrong with it. Couldn’t finish the last podcast, all they did was rant and it provided no interesting commentary. Just negative confirmation bias. I’m done with it
All complaining, all the time
If you are one of the people who truly dislikes GoT this season, this is the podcast for you. It is ridiculously critical.
LongTime Listener- First Time Reviewer
I love Jim & Aa-Ron (sp?) and have been following their Pods since the Breaking Bad Days. I literally keep tabs on my clock at work to click on Podcasts to see when their GOT pods become available. I love their stuff: their insights are quite real to me, they care ALOT about the development of characters, and are insightful and intelligent on what and how writing works on shows and movies to an extent (especially A-Ron). However, these past 2 seasons I definitely feel compelled to say they have become quite negative in content. I don’t blame them, with all the time they’ve invested into creating feedback for this universe, however, instead of hearing the negative on what the show has done at every turn, I would genuinely LOVE to hear their versions of how they would’ve approached each episode with their knowledge of the GOT world. It feels like we get snippets throughout the recap and I become intrigued when they get past the opinion of a scene and touch on their interpretations of how it would’ve better been formatted and how. Anyways, it’s my favorite GOT Pod by far, and definitely worth a listen, just some feedback to the boys. They’re hilarious too :)
End of an Era
Always a fan and will ride with the podcast! Thanks for all your dedication and rambling, I always appreciate the post ep banter and I chime in, you can’t hear me... but I’m chiming! Keep up the dope work, on to new thangs!!
Whining and complaining
A-Aron wrote a books about Westeros so he feels entitled to complain about every single thing he can imagine about the show. Takes the fun out of Game of Thrones. Wouldn’t recommend unless you love being surrounded by nitpicking and complaints.
Awesome mall guy
You always want your podcasters to be passionate but you expect a level of maturity and self-control. When they love something their are no better podcasters but when they hate it, there does not seem to be any level low enough for them. The pettiness especially is off putting. If you like this sort of thing then have at them. I am glad I never have to hear them again.
I am disappointed that I just now found your podcast as this series ended. It’s really fun listening to your past episodes and hearing your inner summer-child fade, as did mine.
Just started listening to this podcast halfway through this final season of GOT. Very insightful and informative. Overall after checking out several podcast on the same subject this is the one that stood out.
So tired of the complaining, it ruins the show. Just because the show didn’t turn out how you expected doesn’t mean it’s bad. Maybe have someone on who enjoyed the ending to get a different perspective on it and get yourselves out of the toxic hole you’re in.
The worst of the internet
I found this podcast before the latest season. I first just found them to be pretentious but not smart and mildly entertaining. Their hand wringing over this latest season is great. They’re literally the personification of toxic internet culture disguising themselves as interesting critical thinkers. When I found out this was one of the more popular podcasts about GoT I was pretty shocked. Then I remembered they’re the personification of stupid internet commentators
GoT final episode
After this review I’m done with both of you.
