Sci-Fi Subgenres: Macabre Containment / Repurposed Infrastructure / Body Horror

A struggling motel owner is paid an exorbitant sum by the FBI to rent out his entire property for a weekend, only to discover they have converted Room 114 into a makeshift, plastic-lined morgue to store a freshly recovered, nonhuman body in a commercial chest freezer. When a regional power outage disables the freezer, the body begins to rapidly thaw, and its dense, fibrous tissue starts regenerating and reassembling itself. With the federal agents delayed by a storm, the motel owner and a single rookie agent must prevent the massive, reviving organism from breaching the motel walls.
