Welcome back to another episode of the Future Ancestors Podcast!
In this episode we had the privilege of sitting down with none other than Nicole Alexa Orosa. If the surname rings a bell, you're right on track – she's the niece of the incredible Maria Orosa. Maria Orosa, an instrumental figure in the fight for Philippine freedom during the tumultuous World War II era, is renowned for her groundbreaking creation of the iconic banana ketchup.
Nicole Orosa takes us on her own journey as the editorial manager for iStorya, a platform conceived by Filipino Americans to delve into their identity; she helps uncovers the tapestry of their roots and explores the essence of being Filipino through the lens of culinary narratives inspired by Philippine history. Based in the vibrant city of Las Vegas, iStorya serves as a poignant bridge to the past.
Nicole also offers us a glimpse into her role as a project manager for global team sports. She was deeply involved in crafting the jerseys for the Philippines Women's National football team, embodying the fusion of sports, identity, and international collaboration.
Of course, no podcast episode is complete without a dash of fun. Our conversation wraps up with an engaging round of "This or That," giving us a peek into Nicole's unique preferences and quirks.
