Mortgage lenders cannot cope with the volume of business coming their way, advisers have told the latest FTAdviser Podcast. Speaking to senior editor Simoney Kyriakou, Jane King, chartered adviser for Ash Ridge Financial Services, said lenders had told her they were swamped, partly due to the difficulties of navigating hybrid working but also because of having to cope with ever-changing bank base rate rises. Also joining her on the podcast was Almas Uddin, founder of Revolution Brokers, who warned of a "massive mortgage slowdown", while Rachel Springall, financial expert at Moneyfacts, said the ever-rising base rate meant the cost of mortgage repayments was rising faster than many people might expect.

The FTAdviser Podcast is the podcast for financial advisers, brought to you by FTAdviser. Each week, FTAdviser is joined by guests from the industry to discuss the week in news and pressing industry issues.
