Yule is the Pagan origin of Christmas, and ritual festivities across Pre-Christian Northern Europe concerned the welcoming and honoring of the dark forces this time year as a requirement for the calling back of the light. Today, guest host Chaise Rocco Levy and I speak with historian of religion and PHD Rune Hjarnø Rasmussen about our plans for a Yule Ritual we are reviving here in North America. We wonder together about the role of monstrosity in awakening ancestral pagan traditions, and how "white folks" can appropriately redeem culture on Stolen Land without unintentionally becoming the monsters we seek to make peace with in this darkest of seasonal times.
