The two prepositions À and DE are always tricky to use. What do they mean?
À is AT, TO, IN, FOR and WITH
and
DE is FROM, BY and OF
With an ADJECTIVE
À — With a real subject + adjective + À + verb
Le livre est difficile à lire. — The book is hard to read.
DE — With an impersonal (il est, c’est) or unspecific (je trouve ça, etc.) + adjective + DE + verb
Il est difficile de lire ce livre. — It’s hard to read this book.
C’est difficile de lire ce livre. — It’s hard to read this book.
Je trouve ça difficile de lire ce livre. — I find it hard to read this book.
