Always Informative
The content and tone of this libertarian broadcast are always excellent. Each podcast covers the full range of pros and cons about the topic as Trevor is bright and well informed. The podcasts before roughly May 2022 also have Aaron Powell as co-host. His questions are really great in getting thoughtful responses from their guests.

Most intellectually honest podcast
The sheer intellectual honesty, and pluralism of vantage points makes this podcast the best podcast around.

Jonathan Rauch is biased
Recent Podcast with Jonathan Rauch was disappointing. Rauch implied the Hunter Biden laptop story was Russian disinformation? Not challenged? Greatly diminished any credibility he might have had as unbiased.

There’s a reason it’s called “free” thoughts
Because that’s about what they’re worth

I love this podcast
Especially the constitutional ones 🔥

Host the Fraser Institute’s Essential Scholars authors
The Fraser Institute has a phenomenal collection of books on Enlightenment philosophy and classical liberalism. You should do an episode on each of the books they wrote

Such good questions
I’ve really enjoyed the few I’ve listened to so far. The questions are clear and probing.

Excellent, thoughtful interview!
Definitely worth a listen. In particular, I found the questions on envy as it relates to agency very informative.

Poverty
Dear Free Thoughts I think it would be interesting to listen to a podcast that outlines how big international poverty is.The Borgen Project points out this interesting tidbit: 8% of the World’s families live on less than US$ 1.90 per per person per day.: In 2015. 736 million people lived below the international poverty line. I think most Americans would be in shock to learn that. And might consider calling on Congress to fight global poverty. Worth diving into… Sincerely , Collazo

Interviewers ask great questions
Very smart people leading this podcast. The guests they have on are top quality philosophers, policy experts, and academics. They understand what’s going on in political philosophy today and they ask great questions to the people they have on. Wonderful podcast!

Great discussions
This is one of my favorite podcasts. The hosts are great and ask the guests thoughtful, respectful questions. In turn, the quality of the quests is also very good. Additionally, the audio quality is great. I look forward to this every Friday

Thought provoking murder prevention
This podcast has introduced me not only to a wide variety of libertarian thought but they often bring in voices from other movements not necessarily considered libertarian in order to foster an open exchange of ideas, which is indispensable to sharing free thoughts. Pun intended. How is it murder prevention? I listen to the show during my work commute. It keeps me from paying too much attention to what other drivers are doing and therefore keeps me out of jail. I’m not saying I’d murder someone but I definitely won’t while I’m listening to Free Thoughts or any other of the fine shows produced by Cato.

Serious decline in quality
There’s still some good episodes, but the show has gotten so much worse since the 2016 election. There was once a two-parter on “Anarchy, State, & Utopia”, and other deep dives into the philosophy underpinning libertarianism. Now, we are treated to the umpteenth podcast letting us know that orange man is indeed quite bad. Even if you don’t care for the current president, the podcast is such a marked departure from what it used to be, and the quality has deteriorated as a result.

Whining and Complaining
When an episode on gratitude turns into a Trump bashing session, it’s time to drop the subscription.

Consistently thoughtful
I’ve been listening to this for a couple years and the 300th episode interview reminded me that I haven’t yet left a review. Fantastic show, always thoughtful and fair with great topics and guests. If I could only recommend one “libertarian podcast” to help non-libertarians better understand my values and thought processes, this would be it.

genuine and provocative
Probably the podcast I’ve recommended the most. Aaron and Trevor ask hard questions and bring on challenging guests. The inquiry goes as deep as the format allows (far deeper than most political philosophy programs, books, etc). You don’t have to agree with what is said - in fact you cannot because there is healthy conflict and debate at every turn. No one screams, no one panics, no one hurls insults. Take an hour each week and step back from the noise while (re)considering your positions and ideas.

Finally something that makes sense
Perfectionism does not work whether on a personal or governmental level. Humans can strive for but never attain perfection. Let's stop expecting it from government. Let"s do what we can do. Free thoughts is my favorite podcast. Always interesting.

Your IQ will go up
I’m not always in the mood to be educated, but when I am, this podcast is the first thing I listen to and I’m always rewarded.

Thought provoking podcast
With in-depth interviews and discussions, this podcast rarely disappoints. Though the hosts are libertarians, their biases do not prevent them from considering opposing viewpoints. Great show.
AbsurdAlbert
Not quite libertarian
It's a decent show that gets into some good issues, but the host is very inconsistent with what he believes the role of government should be. He is also a gun grabber, which in most peoples' view would exclude him from the Libertarian movement.

Just play the episode from April 28th that discusses sex trafficking. "I'm okay, your okay" liberal jibberish.

Review of War on Sex Work
I can't impress how strongly I feel you have duped us with this garbage "investigation" into sex trafficking. Yes, prostitution has been around since the beginning of time. Yes, it will always be around. We all know that and most of us understand it. The reason sex trafficking is getting so much more play recently, as I am sure you well know (and if you don't you should have found a reporter that does), is because of the Wikileaks dumps which opened the doors to the widespread child sex trafficking that is taking place now, and has for a great long time, amongst the government, entertainment, banking and corporate elite of the US and around the world. THIS is what you should be addressing. I understand the fear however - reprisals and mysterious murders are clearly a side effect of investigation. Just be real. You don't have to be a savior but to try to explain away what the issue is or avoid it altogether is criminal.

As much as I hate libertarians - this podcast is awesome
This podcast is zero hype and 100% deep thoughts. One of the very best.

Thank you
My thanks to the team that creates the Free Thoughts podcast. The soothing voices, and relaxed conversation style, allow the listener to comfortably follow along and take in the ideas being discussed.

Thoughtful and thought-provoking
If you are tired politicians and political "experts" shouting at you and each other instead of rationally discussing the struggling state of our union, you need to subscribe to this podcast. Aaron, Trevor and their guests explore the origins of liberty as the basis of our system of government and discuss the corrupting influences that are stealing our freedom.

Great Intellectual Discussions
I quickly became a fan of this podcast. The hosts pose the kind of tough questions that I like to hear a well-versed guest answer; but they ask these questions with the intent of pursuing knowledge rather than simply to stump someone. Very cool. They also manage to present pretty complicated ideas in simple terms, but without dumbing anything down, which is difficult to do and very helpful. Overall, a well done podcast.

Worth Listening to the Entire Archive
This is a fantastic podcast. Aaron does a great devil's advocate and Trevor throws out extreme examples to test thoughts. Even though these guys are brilliant, they break it down where a mere regular dude like myself can understand. I've learned a ton about libertarian thinking and the need to apply it in everyday life and that was before I considered myself a libertarian.

Insight in sight
Probing, thoughtful explorations into the topics essential to freedom and liberty - kudos.

Absolutely amazing and wonderfully hosted
Aaron and Trevor are some of the best hosts out there and I am always happy to find a new episode out. Keep it up guys and thank you for sharing so many amazing ideas.

Amazing podcast
This is one of my three real go-to podcasts. I look forward to it every week. The two hosts are really enjoyable, and a great variety of guests. If you're libertarian, this is probably right in your wheelhouse.

Top Notch
The best podcast to learn about the diversities among the libertarian perspective.

NPR without statists or pledge drives
Hands down my favorite podcasts. Hosts are witty, engaging, and do an excellent job of asking critical questions that allow a guest to flesh out their thoughts more fully. I'm far more informed on policy and philosophy as a result of Free Thoughts. Would love to hear more episodes about foreign policy.
Christian3690
Excellent rational discussion
Aaron and Trevor are great hosts; they make a point to ask difficult questions about the viewpoints expressed when discussing and defending them. I really enjoy how they show that liberty is often a remedy for problems of poverty and inequality, problems for which state action is usually justified. My favorite episode so far is "Chasing the Scream..." which is the greatest compilation of arguments for ending the drug wars I've ever heard.

Socratic Libertarianism
This show is a great forum for Socratic libertarians--not a week goes by without another important conversation guaranteed to provoke questions in listeners of all description.

Outstanding!
Easily one of the best resources out there for anyone interested in classical liberal/libertarian thought. Not too advanced and not dumbed down. A "must subscribe" for a a regular dose of good old-fashioned reason.

A Great Intellectual Resource
If you're interested in the world of ideas then Free Thoughts is the podcast for you. The typical episode has our hosts, Aaron and Trevor, engaging with a writer, a politician or a philospher on a specific subject of concern to libertarians or touching on libertarian philosphy - though I think that one need not be a libertarian to find much to consider and learn from in the podcasts. Smart, engaging and thought provoking - I can't recommend it more highly.
