One more about songwriting! Defiance is essentially about standing up for what you believe in, and seeing the world beyond binaries - real life is a bit more complex than that! I&#39;m sharing how this song was inspired by my girlfriend&#39;s trip to Cuba &amp; a great 2-part movie from Steven Soderbergh starring Benicio Del Toro.
