Fox in the Box, Episode 11 - Guest: Julia Assis
Hosts: Komodo Fox (Caio Donini & Philipp Hasse)
Fox in the Box is our little space to talk about bands we love and their influence on the music we make; occasionally we also get to share some TED-worthy nuggets of philosophy.
This time we had a chat with a person who had a direct impact on the making of Year Zero, and her name is Julia Assis.
Julia is a fantastic photographer who comes from Rio de Janeiro and has experience in a wide variety of projects, ranging from fashion, architecture, food and of course music. In 2016 she published a book called Rio, Eu Tatuo (I Tattoo Rio), which approaches personal stories through the lenses of body art, specifically tattoos inspired by the city of Rio de Janeiro.
She has spent the last year (at least) having quite the international ride, from New York to Rome to Berlin to Mexico City. We recorded this episode in early May and at that time she was back in Rio. We got to talk about how she’s been dealing with the pandemic, her approach to photography and some inspiration and influences.
