In this episode, I talked with the EU Ambassador to Indonesia, H.E. Vincent Piket, discussing some important issues in the Indonesia-EU relationship. As we know, the Covid-19 crisis has presented the world with unprecedented health, economic, and socio-political crises, including to the EU and Indonesia. I asked him on what has the EU learned from this pandemic, in regards to leadership, regionalism and collective governance in addressing this common enemy.Moreover, I explored his view on how could the EU and Indonesia strengthen our democracy which eroded and weakened these days. I also brought up more controversial issues such as the recent developments of EU-Indonesia palm oil disputes, the Indonesia-EU Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU CEPA) and the implications of Brexit on the engagement of two entities.
