I sat down with Mya Jeannine to talk shop about "Predominantly Black" an online high-end fashion boutique that she founded in 2015 with an inheritance she received from her late father. We talk about conscience consumerism and what that means, and looks like for her brand and navigating the fashion industry as a Black women and breaking down barriers to entry as well as her desire to see more buyers and owners of color.
We get a little into her past as a dancer and being a trained Ballerina while also looking at the future, and her passion for Indie film as she works towards being an actress, working a full time corporate gig and balancing her life and online brand.
Lastly, we talk about the value and need for Black women collaborating and lifting each other up. Her influences like Janet Jackson, Mya Angelou & Debbie Allen and what they mean to her.
