Fun and Informative
This show is such a fresh take on health-related podcasts. It’s not boring and stuffy and I love that they have experts on to change it up some. Everything is evidence-based and relatable.

Hey y’all! I love your podcast! I listen on my walks and it feels like I’m walking with friends. Y’all’s lightness and humor is exactly my own and I find myself smiling and laughing along. (My neighbors probably think I’m a little loony.) In addition to just enjoying your “company” - I love your content! I’ve always daydreamed about getting a nutrition certification / training of some kind but my current life season isn’t conducive to it so, listening to your podcast gives me a little dose of the health and wellness insight that I’m craving and I’m grateful. ♥️

Canceling Noom Today
After “binging” the first 2 seasons of FWNTT in about a week, I decided everything I was getting on Noom, I can get here. The up-to-date, sciency, encouraging shows are 10x better than the Noom course. Plus Noom tries to be funny but is nowhere near the pleasant banter of Juna and Eddie. And you get the very best experts as guests, and they are all personable, too. How do you do that?? I have learned so much from FWNNT and I tell my friends about it all the time. I started exercising with resistance bands, walking more, and eating food (not food-like substances) and I am feeling empowered to be happy and healthy. To enjoy even more, I just ordered your book. It looks fantastic! In conclusion, you are saving me a ton of money as I cancel Noom. Thank you, Juna and Eddie!

Cute show that emphasizes eating purposefully and moving! Fun to listen to the hosts’ banter. The genuine enthusiasm to speak to their guests is palpable. Keep it up!

Love the podcast, hate the paywall
Good science and discussions. Excellent nutrition and healthcare presentations. Highly recommended.

Topics are good
The hosts are okay but I think I may not listen on a regular basis since the last guest they had on was in my opinion a judgmental doctor that has never personally had an eating disorder. One of the hosts was talking about healthifying recipes which I happen to do and am a fan of and you could tell she didn’t think this was a healthful way of eating. What is better to eat a regular bagel or donut just to fit into the norm of society? Why not try and choose a healthier option for your overall long term health? Have you heard of diabetes and other metabolic diseases? It seems as though this doctor may consider someone who decides to eat in a more healthful way to have an eating disorder. It’s like the insensitive doctor that told me to eat more milkshakes to gain weight instead of addressing the root cause of my weight loss due to GI issues.

I recommend this to my patients!
As an endocrinologist, obesity and metabolic diseases are my specialty. I spend a lot of time teaching patients about food and exercise and I have found this podcast to be a great supplement to what I talk to patients about. I have shared it with my entire team at work, and they are now hooked as well! I appreciate the evidence based medicine and perspectives from experts around the world and these are all findings that I hear about at the National endocrine conferences as well! I love the nonjudgemental approach to discussing these modern day issues and I hope Dr. Eddie and juna keep up the great work!

Great in so many ways!
I came across the podcast after listening to Weigh for It (which btw is also amazing) and thought it would be the typical, “don’t eat this if you want to live to 200” or “do these exercise to look good in a bikini”, but I was WRONG! I have a PhD in a science discipline and most of the podcast I have come across have been so scientifically ridiculous that I can’t list to more than one episode, not this one. Juna and Eddie talk through the science thoughtfully (not too jargony, thanks Eddie!) while still being grounded in what is practical (Juna, thank you for asking all the questions that most of us are thinking). They are so engaging I feel like I am another host sitting in the recording booth laughing and bantering with them. Keep up the great work guys!

The only podcast I listen to at normal speed!
I love this podcast and never want it to end so I slow it down to 1x speed. Everything else is at 1.5x. I like food and fitness and health, but I wouldn’t say they are my favorite topics. I love this podcast, though. They make the episodes so interesting and informative. The flow is great and I love their personalities. I’d definitely be friends with them IRL!

Highly Recommended- by a Dietitian!
This podcast is amazing! It’s funny, it’s entertaining, it’s informative, and most of all- it’s FACTUAL! Crazy to find that in a podcast, right? As a practicing Registered Dietitian, I see first hand how the confusion and misinformation about food and nutrition leads people to avoid health all together. The information in this podcast is rooted in the same information I share with patients! I’m so glad it’s out there for the masses to hear, while making it feasible to change your diet for the better through the factual data they share. Thank you Juna and Eddie! Keep ‘em coming!

I heard about this show from On Point, and immediately subscribed! It’s educational, interesting, and fun. The hosts have great rapport and I love their friendly back and forth. A great listen!

Realistic advice from experts
Heard about Jana and Dr Eddie on NPR show the other morning - then found these great podcasts. They get in subject matter experts to speak to the specific topic. Not some social media types who are trying to spin themselves as health experts. Looking forward to reading their book

A long overdue talk with food
Such fun! I loved The Magic Pill and this is just as good.

WOW! I Learned So Much…
Upon a friend’s recommendation,I decided to listen to “Is The Food You’re Eating Making You Depressed?” WOW! I learned so much. I was intrigued to hear that the quality of your diet can affect your brain size and whether you are apt to suffer from depression. I lost my mother recently due to dementia. She suffered from migraines and depression for much of her life. Her diet was very poor, high in sugar and processed foods. (The antidepressants didn’t do much if you ask me.) This information is life changing! I will listen to more. Juna and Ed make a great team; they are knowledgeable without being difficult to understand, and they’re funny. I highly recommend giving them a listen 😻

Opening up about their own mental health/ mental health in general on the podcast
I think in an attempt to be relatable or just transparent about their own mental health relating to exercise and food they really missed the mark. It shouldn’t be halfway through the podcast that they discuss eating disorders/ restrictive eating and how the podcast can be triggering to these folks. Please take these things seriously and have a trigger warning ahead of an episode, it’s so simple to do! Additionally, mental health is so complex and such a personalized topic, pitching this narrative that if you just eat well and work out you’ll be fine is dangerous and can cause people to go off the very medications that are working for them. Please stick with other topics because I think y’all try but miss the mark every time and it’s really hurting your audience.

Fresh, funny, fair takes on food and health
This podcast makes me nod, laugh out loud, and sometimes gasp with learning new ideas, and I tell people about the show all the time! The hosts are knowledgeable, smart, and engaging and I always come away the better for hearing their stories, their science, and their guests. The episode that tipped me over into reviewing was the one with Laurie Santos, whose happiness science podcast I have also listened to. Juna's description of talking to every person she meets made me so happy because I also do this and I learned during the pandemic that I need it more than I thought. I did a self experiment one day at the dog park and found that I attempt to greet, or actually greet or at least wave to something like 100 people every day. Usually I am the one to initiate this micro contact. And it is true that almost no one waves, but almost everyone waves back! We can't help ourselves. Connections of all types are as nourishing as the healthy foods and fitness that our bodies crave. thank you for every subject you cover!

My favourite Podcast
The hosts of this Podcast are compassionate, knowledgeable, curious, vulnerable, and honest. This is the podcast for you if you are an “all or nothing” or “black or white” thinker. These personable and relatable hosts take scientific information and expert interviews to bring you the most up to date scientific information on a variety of nutrition and wellness topics. Thank you for doing what you do. Keep up the great work!

Very good - clear and right on
I stumbled upon this podcast and I chasten to lots of science-driven health podcasts. This tells me the the same stuff but in a very clear and engaging way that really makes sense and is easy to understand. I love the comradely of the two and enjoy their banter. Thank you for this lovely podcast!

So much heart.
Love this podcast. I’ve been listening to it from day one and so appreciate Juna and Dr. Eddie’s well-researched and passionate podcast about health. The tone is compassionate, jovial, yet informative. As a therapist I find gems in each episode for me and my patients. Thanks you two!

Fine
While I have loved this show in the past I feel that their latest episode on ozempic really failed and missed the mark. As a person with body dysmorphia I really feel that they made this drug seem like something that EVERYONE who struggles with food should take. This was harmful to me and as someone who is not eligible or overweight but still struggles with this, I felt like the doctor and the episode poised this drug as an “easy” way to stay thin. They only mentioned healthy lifestyle in association to this drug briefly and at the end of the episode. Really poor job

Ozempic episode
Generally I love this podcast. This week’s episode on ozempic felt like a drug ad with a bit of lip service to body positivity. Would really appreciate a follow up with an md who actually has concerns about this med - there are certainly many out there.

Informative and Fun.
I love this pod. Juna always asks the question I was just thinking about (and many others I hadn’t.) You two are a perfect pair. Keep up the great work - and thank uou!

As a cardiology PA, someone who has struggled with weight, and mom to young adults who are now managing their own health, I find this podcast super informative, fun, and useful to myself, my family and my patients! Can’t wait to read the book.

This podcast is amazing. I love the science, realistic tips and dad jokes. The hosts have great chemistry. I save this podcast as my “treat” for the gym. Needless to say, I work out 4x a week!

Awesomeness wrapped in science and fun
I really love the show, I love the science and educational info and of course the charming interactions between Juna and Eddie! BTW people who tend to use Spanish and English on their phones will change Juna to Juan… Anyway great show on food, nutrition and exercise! A big MUAH from Miami!

What a podcast!!!!
I get so excited when I see a new episode of this podcast has dropped…like SUPER excited! The fact that you take science, combine it with everyday life and situations, and cover all that with humor and grace makes this a win-win-win listen! It has become a great motivator as well. Not only does the information spur me on, but I only let myself listen when I’m being active! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

The best podcast on health and nutrition out there!
I love this podcast! I've been listening since day 1! Believe me, you will too. I love how Juan and Eddie discuss anything that has to do with food with both rigorous scientific analysis and humor. I have struggled with weight management since I was 20 (I'm now 44) and I can tell you it takes a lot to discuss this without guiltying or shaming, and they both manage to be encouraging and kind every single time. Bravo! Juna's mention on the Mind Pump programs (and having the creator on the podcast) encouraged me to sign up. And I’m gained so much muscle mass, wow! It’s great. Yeah, I’m still working on food intake but I’m feeling fantastic. Thank you, Juan, Eddie and the team behind the podcast, and congratulationsfor an excellent and oh-so-necessary podcast! So grateful for this podcast!
This podcast came into my life at the perfect time. I’m a woman in my thirties who is getting married later this year, and I’ve been trying to fight off all the pressures to “lose weight for the big day,” and instead focus on nutritious foods and a sustainable workout regime. My family hasn’t always had the best relationship with food and working out, and this podcast is really helping my fiancé and me figure out what’s best for us and our future family. Thank you so much! Love, Melanie

Look forward to this show weekly!
I love this podcast. After 30+ years of chronic dieting and finally developing an eating disorder(!) over COVID, this podcast was a critical rung on the ladder that helped me climb out of that hole. This show helped me realize I needed professional help. I’ve been without eating disorder behaviors for over 2 years now — and in tough moments, I’d turn on one of these episodes and hear some sanity and joy. Love hearing more great facts and even Eddie’s dad jokes weekly. Thanks so much you guys for the hard work you put into this show.

Best ever!
If I could only choose one podcast to listen to on a deserted island, this would be it. If I were on death row, I would choose this podcast to be my last podcast. It’s that good! I look forward to each new episode. Thank you!!!

Great perspective
Great, evidence based (and funny!) perspective on food and eating, not preachy, non-judgemental. Also love the other WBUR podcast on exercise -The Magic Pill. I’m a therapist and I recommend both of these podcasts all the time to clients who are figuring out how, why and whether they want to exercise. It’s awesome!!

Obsessed
As a physician and mother, I am obsessed with this podcast. Dr. Eddie and Juna present evidence based information (not fads!) to improve health and wellbeing. I have recommended this podcast to all my friends and listen to their episodes several times to make sure didn’t miss any details! Keep up the great work! And Thank you!

Great show!
I’m a family doctor and the nerd in me loves all of the evidence-based info, but you both keep topics so fun and entertaining as well! I work a lot in obesity medicine and I recommend your show to patients and colleagues alike!

Informative and fun.
They cut through the mountain of nonsense that is so prevalent in the health and fitness world. Love how the show presents the facts with humor.
Hiokehdjfurnru
Podcast that contradicts itself
Despite saying they’re pro-health , acknowledging that there is not causative mechanism identified for weight and health issues almost every episode is centered on how you should lose weight. The message is clear. The voice is talking from thin people, who’ve never been fat, and only furthers the idea that thin = good, fat=bad
