We need to sensitize ourselves in this regard. It hit me hard, when I watched a video on youtube, in which the Indians are ridiculed for their poor sense of time and with that our dream to become a powerful nation. At that point it struck me hard that we as a community have poor sense of time and least botheration about it. Its okay if we reach the place late- we don’t bother to give the correct time when we want to meet somebody or reach home- we have taken a lot of such things for granted and stopped respecting it. I’m glad we are talking about it today. But my concern is ‘time management’ has remained in the personality development curriculum- and glorified to the extent that it often looks non-achievable. The contents make it sound highly structured and mechanical. Therefore personally I feel I want to focus on time management as an accessible option to be comfortable in life. I strongly believe that time management is very important to be comfortable in life and once you are comfortable, you can achieve success. Moreover success is a highly subjective term. Thus my focus would be on why professionals should manage time?- Balancing professional and personal life demands good sense of time. A balance is required to have a meaningful life.- Nowadays work life has swallowed all the time – during Covid lock down last year- I came across many of my friends expressing that we needed this break. Possibly- in our lifetime this time that we got is the first and the last. During this time I realized that there are many other things that I want to do in life- apart from job. That is possible if we sensitize ourselves to respect the time that we make to ourselves.- As professionals we face many challenges and with a bad sense of time- both work life and home front can be a mess- As a professional on an individual level, we are expected to adhere to office hours– meet timelines on assigned tasks- Meeting team tasks will be easy if the team members adhere to timelines.Should we manage time or make it a habit?- We have to make it a habit, so that sense of time becomes an integral part of our personality and managing time comes naturally to us.- How can I make it a habit? We have to practice a schedule without interruption for good number of days. Later even if you want to break it, you wont.Key to managing time is leaving the bed early- winning the battle of bed. If you can get up early- you have lot of time at your disposal to plan and executeListen to the tips and her mantra for time management in the podcast.--- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/foodandliving-shwetha/support
