A financial runway is essentially a lump sum of cash that you can live off of for 6-36 months while you pursue your dream job, new business, travel etc. The purpose of it is to give you peace of mind with your financials for that time so that you can dedicate all of you headspace to that new venture and be able to tackle it full on without the added stress of work or finances.
