& 2 Darius appoints Daniel as 1 of 3 commissioners over the kingdom and Daniel distinguishes himself
– 6 The other commissioners and leaders conspire against Daniel
– 9 They agree to get the king to sign an injunction that no one may pray to anyone other than the king for 30 days and if they do they will be put into a lions’ den
Daniel knowing of the injunction continues to pray to God as he has done before
– 13 Daniel is accused of violating the injunction
& 15 The king tries to figure away to deliver Daniel but could not
– 18 King makes the order, but states God will deliver Daniel, but has a sleepless night
& 20 King got up early and called out to Daniel if God was able to deliver him
– 23 Daniel answers that an angel shut the mouths of the lions
King orders those who accused Daniel & their children to be thrown into the lions’ den and they do not survive even to the bottom
– 27 King makes a decree that all people in the kingdom are to fear and tremble before the God of Daniel
