We have three degrees of comparison–
• Positive
• Comparative and
• Superlative.
A positive degree is used to describe one person, object, etc. It is also used when two items are being compared of equal quality.
The comparative degree is used to compare two-person, objects, etc. It is formed by adding -er or more and followed by 'than'
The superlative degree is used to compare more than two person, objects, etc. It is formed by adding -est or most and normally preceded by article 'the'. It denotes the highest degree of quality.
