Christine Nickels joins us to discuss how our blind spots and biases may be inadvertently impacting not only our performance but the performance of those around us. She challenges us to listen, educate ourselves, and be willing to HEAR other voices so that collectively we can move toward a more unified community and provide everyone opportunities to thrive. Living Eyes Up is about growing daily individually and ultimately growing each other! Join us in this conversation as we seek ACTION rather than MOVEMENT around this conversation.
Christine Nickels is the Assistant Executive Director and Director of Education and Partnerships at the Fred Wells Tennis and Education Center, a youth development nonprofit and public indoor tennis facility based in St. Paul that removes barriers to participation for under-resourced youth and teaches life skills through sport.
Prior to joining FWTEC, Nickels was the Director of Community Tennis for the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Northern section. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with a degree in exercise and sport science and completed the University of St. Thomas Mini-MBA for Nonprofits program in 2014. Nickels volunteers her time with several local nonprofits and has served in leadership positions for the MN Coalition of Women in Athletic Leadership, Positive Coaching Alliance MN, and the Sports Alliance of Minnesota. Nickels is certified by the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) and Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) in junior and adult development and was named the PTR Minnesota Member of the Year in 2017.
