| What would happen if we truly lived what Jesus taught? That question is at the heart of a fascinating conversation with Christian ethicist David Gushee, Robert and Emily's special guest on this episode of Exploring A Course in Miracles. For decades, David has tackled some of Christianity's most challenging moral questions, from the Holocaust and LGBTQ inclusion, Christian nationalism and the future of evangelicalism. His work has enormous relevance for us as Course students because, at the heart, we are on the same journey: If we really believe the teachings of our faith, what does it mean to live them - even when it's costly? David also wrote the foreword to Robert's new book, The Teacher: Reclaiming the Original Message of Jesus of Nazareth, reflecting their shared interest in recovering Jesus' original message and its relevance to our lives today. This thought-provoking conversation offers much for Course students and anyone interested in the relationship between faith and the courage to live what we believe. |
