Epoché is een Oud-Grieks woord dat zoveel betekent als "het oordeel uitstellen". Dat is dan ook de bedoeling van de gesprekken die Brecht Arnaert met zijn gasten voert: geen finale waarheden poneren, maar het debat verdiepen op een rustige, serene, maar doortastende wijze, samen met experten in hun vakgebied. Dit in de hoop de impliciete aannames bloot te leggen die achter hun wetenschappelijke, literaire of artistieke werk schuil gaan.
