The concept of a Hero’s Journey has been around for as long as stories have been written. All the way back to one of the first books written by Homer called the Odyssey. It’s a common way to stage out a person’s growth and development within pieces of literature. We’ll detail how one of us has taken our own hero’s journey and how O Brother Where Art Thou is an example of taking this classic storytelling theme and bringing it into modern times while mixing in a heaping spoonful of symbolism, a dash of moral relativism, and serving it up hot with a side of redemption.
