Today, Paramount Skydance, the parent company of CBS News, is grabbing headlines for its acquisition of New York-based news start-up the Free Press, which was helmed by conservative journalist Bari Weiss. Paramount is also appointing Weiss as the new editor in chief of CBS News, a move that could usher in a new editorial direction for the media company.
