Spring Equinox: Unfurl
There can be a feeling of deep belonging in responding to the natural rhythms and cycles of the seasons—maybe doing so reminds us that we’re a part of the natural order of things. Today's Embodied Meditation is a celebration of the Spring Equinox. It’s a practice full of calm, uplifting movement, breathing and stillness, perfect for anytime during this early spring season. Think of it as an invitation to begin to unclench any hunched-in holding Winter has asked of you and gently, gradually unfurl toward the expanding light of Spring.

Loving the World
The beloved poet Mary Oliver said: My work is loving the world. We’ll take that as our mantra today, and let this short practice of simple movement and meditation be a love letter – a Valentine – to the world. We’ll start by stimulating the space around your physical heart, freeing any congestion or tightness in your chest, shoulders, and upper back. Then we’ll allow the resulting openness and ease to settle into your body with some quiet meditation, letting the feeling extend, ripple by ripple, out into the world. Desk Stretch: Posture
Many of us spend our workdays hunched forward and rounded in. This leaves the muscles in our backs—from our necks all the way down—over-stretched, over-stressed, weak, tired, and sore. Today’s Embodied Meditation is a 5-minute break you can take anytime, anywhere to open up that compressed shape and find strength, length, and space. Annual Winter Solstice Practice
Winter Solstice. The still point when the natural world sinks into quiet hibernation and deep rest. Today’s Embodied Meditation honors this time with a practice of slow, calming movement, following the energy down and in, and finishing with a candle-gazing meditation to tune into the ancient ritual of tending a gentle light during this darkest time of year. Turn In
Today’s Embodied Meditation is meant to help you turn in — whether you’re using it as a seasonal ritual to move toward the quiet of deep winter or as a way to mark the shift in your day from outward focus to sleep. We’ll start with gentle, seated movement, transitioning from outer stimulation to inner resources. Then we’ll finish with a short, guided relaxation, with the option of lying down, so you can simply drift off to sleep, if you like.  Want to be added to my mailing list, discuss a private yoga session, or offer suggestions for future Embodied Meditation recordings? I’d love to hear from you. Please visit my website: paigegilchristyoga.com. Loving this podcast and want to contribute to its production? Harvest Season Practice {Re-Embodied Re-Play}
Part of us is still attuned to more ancient ways of tracking time, and that part yearns to mark the shift from the fruitfulness of summer and the activity of early fall toward a quieter period of preserving, composting, and settling in for rest. Today’s Embodied Meditation, a Harvest Season practice, is perfect for the evening. It will help you wind down from an entire portion of the year or just the day’s doings and prepare for bed.
