This podcast series will feature local farmers, land owners, community leaders and more on the benefits of using solar and for the Homer Solar Project. The Homer Solar Project is a proposed 90-megawatt (MW) photovoltaic (PV) solar energy generation facility, which may include approximately 20 MW (80 megawatt-hours [MWh]) of energy storage, located in the Towns of Homer, Cortlandville, and Solon, Cortland County, New York. The Facility will safely generate enough clean, renewable electricity to power more than 20,000 New York households.

This episode features a conversation with Cortlandville homeowner Michael Barylski who is leasing some of his land to the Homer Solar in Cortland County. Barylski will share his experiences from 35 years working for the New York State DEC and his time as a County legislator, including how his decision to take an active role in combating climate change led him to the decision to lease his land to Homer Solar.
