The S&P 500 didn't change much today, with most sectors closing down. Western Alliance bank's stocks went up 24% because they reported better earnings and higher deposits. Elevance and UnitedHealth stocks went down because they're having trouble collecting on Medicare claims. Snapchat+ has over 3 million subscribers, and Bed Bath & Beyond is preparing for bankruptcy. Mortgage applications are down, and Tesla's stocks fell because of lower profits. IBM missed revenue expectations, and Abbott had a great earnings call. Disney and Meta are both cutting jobs to save money.
