In Malachi's day, unfaithfulness and disloyalty spread within the family of God, destroying marriages and corrupting worship. Unfaithfulness has spiritual and social implications that threaten the unity of God's people. Yet God's people (then and now) are reminded that they are one people under one God and Father and in Him, they should be faithful to one another.
