No Guilt Sociopathic Nature of Serial Killers & Madoff Like Criminals Who Have No Feelings for Victims: Sancho Jones, host of Thunderstruck Radio, asks Vonda Pelto, Ph.D., author of Without Remorse: The Story of the Woman Who Kept Los Angeles' Serial Killers, about how the experience hardened her personality and made her extremely paranoid.
As a clinical psychologist, just before taking the job in Los Angeles Men's Central Jail, she had dealt mainly with sexual molesters of fairly innocuous nature. But when she entered the tense and highly charged atmosphere of Los Angeles Men's Central Jail, and that particular cell block populated with serial killers.
She notes how highly vulnerable we all are to these predators and the sociopathic and highly manipulative nature of people, and not just serial killers, who have no feelings for their victims. The serial killers and ripoff artists like Bernie Madoff have no feelings of guilt, they don't care like normal people have the capacity for. When most of use see someone in pain we have a reaction, but not these sociopaths and they come in all forms of life and in every walk of life. Men, women, salesman, con artists, politicians, business leaders, etc.
