Not Worth A Listen
Two of the dumbest youths glossing over Wikipedia articles about philosophers.

Theory
One of my favorite podcasts, they are pretty open about the fact that the joke to philosophy split is on the funny side, podcast reviewers seem to not like to have fun.
Anyway I think the personal reason the show is no more has something to do with drinking to much and needing to stop, or atleast that’s my coping mechanism for them canceling it

Where are these guys?
This was hands down my favorite podcast. Then the pandemic happened and they never came back. Please come back y’all :(

Try-hards
This show is for the unintelligent. The guys hosting this show are a couple of shallow, douche bags trying so hard to be interesting. Horrible show.

Seemed like it should be fun
Pointless. Never talk about the philosophy, they are superficial in all respects. Not worth the 40 minutes I spent.

we love you guys !
my boyfriend found this podcast a little while ago and he listened to it everyday and would talk me about how much he loved it and how funny it is, we now listen to it in the car and we absolutely love it, it’s a constant laugh while talking about really interesting ideas.

Appropriate title
I listened to one podcast and, frankly had to shut it off with about 8 minutes to go. It’s appropriately titled “Drunken Philosophy.” In fact, it’s not even up a bad discussion I had in an off campus tavern when I was an undergrad many years ago. These guys have a muddled and shallow understanding of intellectual history.
Ukko-Dan
Love you Dan and Connor
Bummed to hear the guys are going on hiatus but at least you can listen to 300 eps of consistently hilarious and usually intellectually stimulating riffing on drinking, philosophy, and anything else in the world
allll the names are taken
Inspiring.
This podcast , though unbelievably stupid 😂. Has really made me dive into the study of life and knowledge. I love philosophy even more than I did , now that I listen to you all daily.

I’m barely on episode 50 something, but I can’t stop listening and laughing at everything they have to say. I’m also completely new to philosophy and this was the best podcast I could find about philosophy that I didn’t just stop listening to after 10 minutes.

a little disappointing
Not a super well thought out or well-articulated discussion. They make a lot of assumptions and sweeping generalizations without much to back them up. I do like that they talk about contemporary philosophers, which is pretty rare.

Unfunny Bigots 🤷🏾♂️
The description and reviews made me excited to start this podcast, but I was disappointed to discover that it’s mostly just two white cis men saying a bunch of sexist, homophobic, transphobic, and racist things while agreeing with each other about how much more enlightened they are than people who don’t live in large costal cities. These guys are proof that living near the Castro doesn’t make you “woke.” I listened to two whole episodes, far apart in their catalogue, to try and give them a fair shake, but it’s just too hard to listen to anyone engage masturbatory, self-congratulatory chatter with such unearned confidence any longer than than.
Also, I know it’s a comedy show, so we’re supposed to be generous about the host’s general knowledge and fact checking, but it’s actually surprising and embarrassing how much they get wrong. It turns out that speaking authoritatively and then wallpapering over your ignorance with a couple of unfunny jokes that even you don’t laugh at is no substitute for actually knowing something.
Look elsewhere. You’d be better off listening to white noise. White noise has more substance, better jokes, and it never complains about the burdens of privilege.

Not too hard
I blundered into this and have now listened to over 200 episodes. I've tried other philosophy podcasts but they made my brain hurt and sent me into depression. It's funny enough and informative enough.

Philosophy and cocktails? BRING IT ON!
I started listening on a recent road trip and ended up devouring a clutch of episodes. Big ideas peppered with humor and random off topic conversation.
So much fun to romp through the Phillies (ie: philosophies) with these guys. Totally entertaining and thought provoking!

I got rused into liking this
Started listening to this because I thought it would help me with a philosophy class and uhh it absolutely didn't. But by that point I was hooked. These dudes can riff. Pls do some episodes about aesthetics, lads!
mr spindly
No serious philosophical discussion
If you want helpful discussion, this isn’t your show. These guys are awful at explaining philosophical systems, and don’t seem to really care about serious philosophical discussion. If you want to have a fun listen, this show’s alright, but it’s super obnoxious if you want focused, mature discussion.

Awesome podcast
These guys are great. I’ve been listening for almost two years. I even had a shout out or scream down back at episode #188. I have a deal for you guys... I’ll join the The patron if you two take a shot of booze on air. Since I can’t see it, I’ll just have to believe you.

Great Listen
A great podcast that explores different schools of thought and doesn’t take itself too seriously. I usually recommend this podcast for it’s easy listen and humor.

Good. Could be better.
Love the topics. Love when you actually dwell into a topic. But like being awakened from an amazing dream by a bed-mate's snoring fits, my love of this podcast gets disrupted by the random, extraneous, non-philosophical rambling.

This is my fav podcast. Always got me cracking up! “This is the only time I drink and I learn...”

Funny boys
Love the show, glad you guys chose to put out additional content. I get to absorb friendly conversation but I don’t have to talk or interact with anyone! It’s perfect. Also, maybe the round two podcast should be called 2nd Time Around because duh Tuxedo. Lastly, would you consider an episode on Martin Buber? For his name and his brain.

funny dudes and happy shoes
I work alone all day and constantly need things to occupy my brain. This podcast helps! From funny to thought-provoking these dudes keep it entertaining and sometimes, if Connor is confused, informative. I suggest it to all my dumb philosophy nerd friends and sometimes even just dumb people. I would suggest the nickname the Midwestern Pepper Snake Plissken, though. Anyhoo (as Dan would say), listen to this podcast and stop talking to me!

Great podcast
You guys are great. I listen every week babyyyyy. Learned a lot about philosophy and nothing about myself so that is good (self reflection=Ugh) Keep up the good work and if you give a shout to Freak-Gamin, where we pair beer with video games on youtube, that would be appreciated. Will return shoutout, i will shoutout anyway cuz you guys a great.

Best podcast
My bois this is great pod. You have inspired me to waste my money and become a philosophy major. Thanks so much

Just Overall Great
[Relatively] Short time listener, but I promise to pledge to your Patreon.
Was just listening to the latest episode and thought that you could do a really great one on Robert(?) Nozick’s Experience Machine. I may be way late to the convo but I think it could be really neat. I did a paper on the topic a couple years back and have some ideas on it but am very interested to hear yours (unless I’m weak and haven’t looked far enough into the vaults). Either way, get better and get back to those VoSos!

My Fave Babes!
My favorite babes!
I listen to them when I’m cleaning, cooking, and just generally when I want. A good laugh. Being around the same age as them, their references and jokes are relatable for me.
Not going to lie, I want to see Dan and Connor re-unite! (again, permanently).
But we all have different lives.
Just know that you do have listeners who have listened to the back catalogue and actually care! ❤️

Makes spiraling through the absurd bearable. Dan and pepper snake are seriously funny and great thinkers. Love hearing them contemplate some of the great questions like "is it okay to bang your cat, if your cat likes it?"

Listen, drink, learn
Drink along with Dan and Connor, sometimes you learn stuff. So far my favorite philosophy podcast. Give it a listen!

Amazing podcast
I wish I discovered it earlier... but hey! It's never too late! I would really recommended it to anyone as it is insightful and funny, just perfect actually.
autodidakt.
My favorite podcast
When it comes to alcohol and philosophy (which Mankind has been in love with for thousands of years) you two dudes are the my no-homo beloveds. There is another podcast that is very similar by involving alcohol and philosophy, but since I am such a great and nice person (only because I crave self-validation) I will not name that other podcast.
I love Drunken Philosophy because the witty back-and-forth banter reflects my own sense of humor and nostalgic, 90's pop-culture references.
Also, Dan is a writer living in Chicago. I went to Columbia College in Chicago (living in Madison now) for creative writing, so that's cool too, I guess.
And as for Connor, we have the same job, so that's cool too, I guess.
But whatever. Even though everything is a social construct and nothing matters, I love this podcast to death, which can't come soon enough ;p
Maybe do an episode on the philosophy of Twin Peaks?
Thanks guys and keep doing what you're doing,
Jacob

I really enjoy listening to this podcast every week. It really boost my self-esteem. No loose butthole listening to this pod. Straight solid snake!

Good, not great
This would be really amazing except there are too many borrowed voice inflections from Scott Aukerman, which really just makes this seem green and awkward...like a college sophomore who has a few philosophy classes under their belt, at a party, wasted, with extreme social anxiety... The content is good though.

Won me $20.
Connor's new scratch-off bit inspired me to go buy one and I won $20 so I had to rate the podcast 5 stars. Also, you guys are very funny. Also, I kind of want to marry both of you at the same time. Just the right amount of philosophy and random nonsense to keep me entertained every episode.

I am a lady and I love this podcast
Just the right amount of detail to convey the ideas without making me have to rewind the podcast fifty times. I love philosophy and I also hate philosophy and this show is my sweet spot. They are the friends I don't have, having the conversations I have with myself while I brush my teeth.
Curi0usyell0w
Two smart and funny guys!!!
I was listening to Episode #79 which was recorded before the Cubs won the series and it was funny to hear the conversation. They didn't know the Cubs were going to win! Hahahahahaha! What makes it funnier is the fact the topic for this episode in eternal recurrence!!!! Lol, the irony!

Eat fist buttheads.
Friend told me about this podcast and I'm glad he did. Have an hour long commute to work and this is now how I fill the void when driving. I hope this podcast lasts for a long time.

Boosh!
This podcast provides exactly what I'm looking for in a philosophy podcast, which is: a) just enough information to seem interesting and smart to a drunk and/or high person who knows nothing about philosophy; and b) goofs. The reference to Taqu'il in the Logic episode earned my comment.

Click bait
Love this podcast almost as much as I love Taft. Long-time first-time but just wanted to say thanks for the laughs. I was going to suggest doing an analysis of Westworld on HOBO, but sounds like Nolan hater-ade was the drink of choice on a recent episode. Even if it was predictable and cheesy, there were some cool philosophical undertones in it such as freedom of will and what personal identity looks like, specifically psychological continuity in humans and if that can be transferred and achieved between a person and an AI recreation (i.e. Arnold and Bernard) or between the same person during two different time periods (what they call "reidentification"). Marya Schechtman's The Constitution of Selves provides a good account of/challenge to psychological continuity theories. Pretty much the main problem is: is personal identity a question of reidentification or is that lacking something else more meaningful? Schechtman is in favor of a personal narrative account of identity....more or less a person's own autobiographical view of themselves that answers better the issues of moral responsibility, fear of pain or future pain that reidentification cannot. Not sure if it would make a good episode but figured since you have done some DP at the movies you could also do some DP on a HOBO. Cheers.

Loved the bunny episode!!!!
Connor is a strong psychoanalyst but could use more carrots.

Funny, somewhat informational, could be more drunk.
5 star rating because the content is great, Connor gets off topic a lot, and it almost always involves day drinking. The only downside is that the negative effects of alcohol are hard to witness in most episodes, which could be due to the fact that Dan and Connor are day drinking and feel they need to be sober in order to be productive members of society. To each his own, I suppose.
Definitely check out the podcast even if you are dumb like me, but not if you're proud to be a cis white male because shots are often fired. Also, my phone autocorrected 'cis' to 'CIA' so don't be in the CIA either.
