Never underestimate the power of questions and their power to change the status quo.
On today’s episode, Christina Blacken and I discuss her experience living as a triple minority in her native state of Utah. Through her childhood experiences, she understood early on that bias and perceptions about marginalized groups were formed by stories told in education, the media, and in the household.
After graduating and discovering that corporate life wasn’t for her, Christina wanted to make an impact using her natural talents and founded the New Quo of Professional Development Consultancy, which has been featured in Elle, Marie Claire and Forbes, among others.
In this episode, Christina and I discuss:
- The different types of stories we hold that shape our realities
- Fighting biases by being conscious of narratives
- Asking the right questions and what it means to be a leader in your own life
