Promotes False, Satanic "Apparition"
I wanted to like this podcast. Good Catholic podcasts are hard to find. It’s either rah-rah, let’s all hold hands, new springtime, head in the sand nonsense, or hateful, anti-papal screeds. The golden mean seems to be almost entirely absent from the Catholic podcast world. Unfortunately, I started listening with the show titled 3 Days Darkness. Big mistake. Right away, this guy starts promoting the satanically inspired Medjugorge “apparitions.” You would think a man who puts himself forward as some kind of expert on Catholicism would understand that the local bishop and the entire bishop’s conference has repeatedly condemned these so-called “apparitions” and has ordered that no one travel there under the pretext of making a “pilgrimage” to an alleged “holy site” and no one should promote these “apparitions” as authentic. The local bishop remains the competent authority in such matters as all informed Catholics know. To disobey the bishop on such a clear directive is one indication among countless that these “apparitions” come not from heaven but from the depths of hell and are authored by the Father of Lies. Michael Davies, E. Michael Jones and numerous others have exposed this phony traveling “apparition” show, the multi-millionaire “seers” and the heretical statements supposedly made by Our Lady. You would think a knowledgeable Catholic would know such things. Alas, I am left to conclude that the good Doctor is not as knowledgeable as he purports to be and severely lacks Catholicity. None of the troubling aspects of Medjugorge are a secret, not in the era of the mighty Google. A few minutes searching will yield a treasure trove of Medjugorge trash. The Blessed Mother follows soccer in heaven! Yay! Due to his lack of discernment on this crucial issue and what I can only conclude is his willful ignorance I cannot recommend this podcast. I’d give it zero stars if possible.

A new favorite!
Dr. Dobbins podcasts engage me in a deeper understanding of my catholic faith on many different topics. I enjoy how easily I am able to follow the logic in the conversation as well as gain different perspectives with the 'live' audience involved. Thank you!!

Very helpful
I prefer the more recent podcasts where it is just Mr. Dobbins speaking, as opposed to the group sessions earlier in the podcast series, however, the analysis and commentary is spot on. I find the content very powerful and informative. Highly recommended.

Great education/instruction for Catholic and Non-Catholic
This podcast is a great insight to the class he offers at his home parish. Along with Bible studies, there are also discussions on Church Doctrine, common pratices and Fundamental Theology. He presents not only Biblical Basis for beliefs, but also insight from the church Fathers, and contemporary scholars. This podcast and his assistance helped me return to the Church

Quality content
I was initaially unimpressed by the less-than professional quality of recording (especially with students having their own conversations and moving chairs around), but I am learning and relearning so much that I don't care now! The quality of the content easily trumps the slight effort to adjust to the quality of recording.

One of the best!!
Excellently presented. Good information for the Catholic wanting to deepen their faith. A fine foundation for those exploring the one true church established by Jesus Christ.

Highly Recommend
This is a GREAT podcast! Set in a classroom type setting, the topics covered answer many, many questions about Catholicism. It's easy to relate to all of the members of the class. I find myself asking a question as others in the class ask the very same question. I find myself saying, "Ah, I get it!" at the same time that others are having thier own epiphany! I look forward to the next class!
For His Glory
The Dr. leads competantly, and hardly bashing Vat II...
First, to address a reviewers comments about him being disappointed listening to the Class "What Vat II really...", bashing the intent of Vat II is not what the Dr. taught here. Dr. Dobbins points out the various obscurities of Vat II Ecclesiology revision, their mis-interpretation by some Diocese, and even provides the listeners with Papal rebuttals and corrections to such abuses, which are documented. He also provided a look into Vat II's successes and advocated its intent to bring the Mass more fully to the Laity. In doing this, he quotes directly from V-II Chapter and is validated in his perspective. There are objective real life observations on the Dr.'s and the Audiences part as to how Churches in their geographic area have applied or mis-applied the Liturgical Revisions enumerated in Vat II documents. Dr. Dobbins Classes on Developing a Prayer Life are revealing and comprehensive. He is a gift to our Faith. I need to move to Va. and get it firsthand. Thank you Dr. Dobbins for your Work.

Vatican II Bashing
I first listened to the 4 episodes on prayer, and found Dr. Dobbins to be motivational and insightful. Next, I listened to the episode on Vatican II and was greatly disappointed. I could barely make it though the episode - there was such a great disrespect for the council that I could hardly stomach listening to the entire thing. The participants of this talk also added in comments that were self-righteous and anything but Christ like. What a disappointment - I doubt I will listen to anymore episodes. If you are ultra-traditional, pro "Tridentine Mass only" and detest Vatican II, this is the podcast for you.

FANTASTIC !!
Simply put one of the most informative uncompromising podcasts detailing the richness and truth of the Catholic faith. I have been studying on my own for almost a year and learned more listening to one of Jim's classes then I have gleaned from reading several books. My only minor "complaint" is that I would love to have the slides to accompany the lessons, however I haven't been able to find how to contact Dr Dobbins or a place where the slides are uploaded. Keep up the great work and may God Bless You!
