The war encroaches into Downton Abbey.  A shellshocked valet enters as a newly called up William prepares to leave.  Mary's new beau makes an impression,  Mr Molesley tries to cut Mr Bates' lunch, and the suicide of a patient at the hospital leads the family to decide they need to be doing more to aid the war effort.
