I'm thrilled to share my favourite book in the universe with all of the bin-licking teachers out there! The Fish Philosophy was first published in 2000 by Stephen Lundin, Ph.D., Harry Paul, and John Christensen and has gone on to change the culture within workplaces right across the globe.
In this episode I share my experiences with the teachings from the Fish Philosophy and how I have integrated its four key elements into everything that I do as an educator.

1. Choose your attitude
2. Make their day
3. Be there
4. Play

I began this podcast to help teachers to understand what is happening in different educational contexts across Aotearoa. There is so much that we can learn from each other and my hope is that together we can lift the lid on what's happening outside of our own schools in order to be more united as a profession.
Throughout our careers, teachers hear and say all sorts of crazy shit! One of the craziest things I ever had to say to a bunch of students, was a detailed explanation of why it's not a good idea to lick the inside of a rubbish bin. We've all got stories like this that are just too good NOT to share, that's why I ask every interviewee to share the craziest things they've heard or said during their teaching journey.

This podcast is for inquisitive teachers who are looking to learn from people outside of their own schools. They're curious and focused on doing the absolute best that they can for their learners.

Thank you so much for listening.
