The First Homicide is the second story of the Bible of the Old Testament.  This story has two distinct messages:

1. We all have deep inside us the savagery and fury that can lead us down a path to commit crimes against God unless we learn to control and subdue such impulses. 
2. Even though a person makes a terrible mistake, his/her life is not over. God promises to forgive us our sins if we are sorry for them and resolve not to repeat them. Forgiveness, then, is nothing but a chance to do better.
