Join Carmen Jimenez-Pride and Dora Henderson in discussing Diversity in the Playroom. At a Safe Space Counseling LLC, I work with all races, ethnicities & the amazing LBGTQ community. I have a passion for teens and families who struggle with gender identity and for helping parents learn to accept and love their kids for who they are and want to be. My daughter had a time when she felt she was male, and this was a real struggle for my spouse, who had been brought up Catholic. Helping my daughter work on feeling loved and accepted, even though it was a tough time for her father was my main priority. I made sure she knew she was loved and safe no matter what. It had become a beautiful journey for them, but it was a transition. Supporting parents with this life transition, helping with grief, and working toward their journey toward acceptance is one of my passions. I love working with everyone- all brains are loved and accepted in my space. I also walked the walk with my children who are neurodiverse, so becoming a strong advocate for helping parents and kids get the support they need to have school accommodations and build strong self esteems is my passion. I hope to see you at the Diversity of Play Therapy Summit! You can contact me at asafespacellc.com, and my phone number is 407-863-2110 I have an upcoming training for Play therapists looking to become a Play Therapist Supervisor, as well as RPT Supervisors.
