Hernandez, the president and CEO of Skypostal, who has over 30 years of experience in international logistics. He disrupts the industry by fighting against the challenges and complexities faced in the Latin American market of e-commerce. He’s also a former minor league baseball player!   Takeaways:   The status quo for most of the world for shipping is postal service or express carriers, but in the underdeveloped parts of the world those don’t work.  When shipping to Latin America, you lose 20 - 30% of your packages and the prices are exorbitant, which makes Latin Americans terrified to shop online. The corruption in Latin American countries has almost killed the e-commerce economy there.  We are in the early stages of cross border e-commerce into Latin America.  The postal world only works in industrialized countries, of which there are only 24 and doesn’t work in developing countries, which is what all of Latin America is considered.  The gold standard for e-commerce is America, and the goal is to replicate the experience for the shopper no matter where they are. Always better to be proactive rather than reactive. You need to know if there is a problem before the customer tells you there is an issue.
