Travis, Katie, and I are joined by Katie K. She has been doing comedy for around 8 years. She has done a bit of everything in Hollywood. She is hilarious. She has a specail coming out on Feb 20, called I am the Trash. Katie K is from Arkansas originally. She is also Catholic originally. Now she lives in LA and is a self-proclaimed "Woo Woo." And she told me that Woo Woo is not offensive if used with love. We have a great chat about her journey away from Catholicism and her path into the Woo Woo. We discuss her thoughts on what makes a good medium, what her true feelings are regarding crystals, and her dream afterlife. Hey zealots. Travis, Katie, and I have Ian Ira Rousso join us in the studio this week. He is about as inside baseball for LA comedy as one can get. He crashed onto the scene in LA some 7 years ago, and almost instantly made a name for himself. He is a self-proclaimed troll. He is at just about every open mic in LA that exists. And he just performed is first hour in LA. I tell Ian just what I thought of it in this episode. In all honesty, Ian is an LA open mic icon. When I first arrived in LA to start standup, there was basically one website that had all the information one needed regarding open mics and independent shows in and around LA: The Comedy Bureau. The Pandemic hit and The Comedy Bureau was one of its victims. Ian filled that void with a list that he put together on his website: https://www.ianirarousso.com/la-open-mic-lists. Just about every new comic I have spoken to references Ian's list. He has also seen fit to rank his peers in Top 100 lists the last few years, which is something that most LA comics do...we just don't write it down and publish it. Hey nerds. Boy, do I have a treat for you! The mighty Nick Linsmayer joins me to discuss his life in quarantine, his comedy thoughts, and his religious beliefs. Nick is just good people. He explains that he has always been interested in standup and had a bit of a external shock that pushed him into performing. We talk about so many interesting things, like the best airports in and around DC, the public transportation system in DC, and names I can't remember. He was raised religious, and still holds to his religious values. But he and I discuss some of the difficulties in being religious in a cynical career. He also explains what it was like for him to be raised religious and gay -- he doesn't like being called homosexual. And we get to the bottom of the Bill Gates / Coronavirus conspiracies.
