A delegation of Muslim and Arab diplomats have met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing as part of a global effort to gain support to end hostilities in Gaza. Countries of the Global South have emphasized calls for peace while Western countries that have supported Israel’s incursion into Gaza are also urging for an immediate ceasefire. Is Israel heeding these calls? What more can the international community do to deliver humanitarian assistance to the thousands of Palestinians caught in the cross-fire? Can a temporary truce be made, or will the violence continue?
