Venerable Ajahn Anan Akincaño practiced under the meditation master, Venerable Ajahn Chah Bodhiñāna Thera, before establishing Wat Marp Jan in 1984.  Today he is considered one of the most prominent teachers in the Thai Forest Tradition.
