On the morning of March 24, 2003, Melinda McGhee, a 31 year old Licensed Practical Nurse, finished working the night shift at an Alabama nursing home. After getting home at around When Troy and the kids arrived home at around Officers quickly arrived at the scene and concluded that Melinda had been assaulted and abducted. Despite a thorough search and investigation, no sign of Melinda has ever been uncovered.
