To be frank, every day my daughter gets a bit older and the anxiety begins to set in that the selfishness of the built environment is leaving her out of it. Decisions are being made that will affect her generation by those who won’t be here to see just how harmful those very decisions came out to be. It’s frustrating but it’s why I write, why I serve on two urbanism-focused boards and have made the most out of my curiosity about the built environment and public transportation. I just hope it pays off.
