As Task Force 59 is set to establish an operating base in Akaba, Jordan, the US Navy will improve its maritime domain awareness of the Red Sea, by operating autonomous Saildrone boats that will monitor this strategic waterway that has recently faced increasing tension, particularly at its southern part, where Iranian-backed Houthis are fighting the Saudis backing the Yemeni regime.
