In April 2018, newly out of therapy and about to tour America, I met my partner Christopher by chance at St Pancras. Ocean Floor became an emotional document of that turning point. In this Music Deep Dive, I follow the song from its railway-platform beginning through its painstaking, word-by-word lyrics and two-part structure, exploring how songwriting became a form of therapy - and divided my writing life into before and after.
