Cindy Schade is a retired member of Grandview Christian Church. She spends her days serving in various capacities. Listen in today as she shares how she integrates Christ with the work she continues to do. 

This week we are joined by Jeff Keeling who is interviewing Jim Garbe. Jim is an EMS in Johnson City Tennessee. Jim sees people at some of the worst moments in their lives and brings the love and grace of Christ to them in those moments. 

Ryan Bader is a Physician's Assistant working in primary care.  He began his career as a worship minister and now works in healthcare.  Tune in to hear how he views work and worship and his job in patient care.  

Beth Simpson is a long-time Grandview member who currently serves on the Johnson City school board.  Her work in the community is a public office, but is also a place where her worship bleeds into her work.  Listen in as she tells us about the challenges and rewards of a difficult job.  

Kristen Waite is a middle school social studies teacher in Elizabethton where she encounters hundreds of students everyday. Join us as we talk about how work and worship intertwine for Kristen and her students. 

Grandview’s partnership with Southside School brings together mentors and at risk students who form meaningful relationships through consistent meetings in the school year.  While we may never know where these kids end up after their elementary years, we know that they are greatly impacted by the one-on-one attention they get from their mentors.  Brandon, Cindy, Becky, and Dave share their experiences of being mentors on today’s podcast.  If you want to learn more or get involved at Southside, contact Nathan at [email protected]

Having worked at the Child Studies Center and now at Ashley Academy, Jackie’s mission field of service is her school. But more than that, she helps to involve Grandview’s youth in service to our community. Jackie has worked with youth for nearly 30 years and has a heart for showing them how to serve through her example.
