Seeing Me ( Look into my eyes)
Through the eyes of a blind man
Through the eyes of a lead singer in the band
Never show others your hand
I am never afraid
I never seeked out no protection nor aid
The glare in the eyes is beginning to fade
Life's traumas, pain, and hurt
Cutting like a blade
More pressure, more pain, only
More lessons to be taught
And only truly understand what I felt and the gain
See weight is becoming heavy, but
My eyes are too
Im wondering about others trauma
And to switch code
To be bold, from transition to transition
From this step to step, my foot takes
On the brake
Life is not a slice of red velvet cake
Seeing me ( look into my eyes)
I give thanks
For all my money in the banks
I want to thank those who have pushed me
Who have pushed me to strive and thrive
Who will i ever be ?
Oi am unstoppable to this path called success ‘there is no play book
But in my mind i have this look
One day you will be addressed as Dr Morris
And wondering how my past made me
My present frames me like a picture
But i give thanks
First and furthermore to the creator
Of heaven and earth
To impregnating my mother and leading to my birth
Year after year I have aged with time.
And I have acquired a quarter and a dime.
In the nick of time ‘i am in my prime
Quick on my feet
Never missing a beat
Keeping everything in place and neat
My hair in place
And i have on my lace
Im keeping the pace
Like in a deck of cards we keeping the ace
Life is the base
And i'm getting up to hit
And to hit hard and never quit
Seeing me ( look into my eyes)
I give thanks to the man upstairs
For my son and not losing him to a gun
Shot after shot another day occurs and we make memories
He’s outside and riding his bike enjoying and having fun ‘a summer where he can the experience the sun ‘there's food to consume, chips and a hotdog in a bun
Like running on the beach and letting the sun hit your skin
Im going in
This pen is allotting an opportunity to be great
5,6,7,8 as my son and i dance to this beat
Look at me and look him
It's time to go, because I don't have any more.
