Growing up and as an adult, everyone tells me how much money I need to sock away for "a rainy day" aka start an emergency fund.

Now, as a business-owner, entrepreneur, and landlord, I'm no longer fooled by traditional "advice" when it comes to money. 

Here is my argument for what the emergency fund really is. I also share a few personal stories to illustrate the time I actually had a real emergency!
