From established epidemiologists to novice data scientists, many have tried to understand the spread of the Covid-19 disease and predict the future. In most cases, it did not work. We discuss many interesting questions on the difficulties of data collection and quality, modelling of the disease dynamics, communicating model uncertainty and the effect of policy interventions with Kaiser Fung, a consulting data scientist, educator and author.
