In the summer of 1989, Chrissy Page and her family traveled from Vancouver, BC to a remote lakeside cabin near Revelstoke for their very first family vacation. What was supposed to be a peaceful getaway quickly turned into something none of them would ever forget.
It began with terrifying screams echoing through the hills at night—sounds no one could identify. Then came the unthinkable. One afternoon, Chrissy and several other teenagers witnessed a large, black, human-like creature sprint across a pasture before being struck by a car. What they saw up close was no animal. It was covered in thick black hair, with human-like features and an unmistakable intelligence in its face.
In the nights that followed, the activity intensified. Strange vocalizations echoed across the river. Massive tree limbs were thrown toward their campfire. And finally, something came right up to their cabin… staring through the kitchen window before screaming directly into her father’s face.
Years later, many researchers have noted that Bigfoot sightings often increase during times of environmental disruption—logging, construction, and human expansion forcing wildlife deeper into human territory. Was this creature part of a larger group displaced from its habitat? And was it trying to communicate… or warn them away?
This is one family’s terrifying first hand encounter in the wilderness of British Columbia.
