Examples from GABF Winners List 2019
Gold Medal: Hold The Reins
Brink Brewing Co.– Cincinnati, OH
4.6 % ABV
Notes from Brewery: This award winning beer took home a GOLD medal from the 2017 Great American Beer Festival. English Mild is the original “session ale” while still full flavored. Moderate sweetness, a bit nutty with a touch of caramel. Chocolate and roast notes give way to a dry finish.
Silver Medal: Sliding Rock
BearWaters Brewing Co. – Canton, NC
4.8% ABV
Notes: Looks -A deep gold, honey amber, lightly cloudy body has a nice full creme head that fades to lacing and light coating by 1/4 way down.
Smells- Generous full malt grains richness, mildly floral/honey/earthy aromas are really enticing and evidence of a quality brew.
Taste - Full on fresh lightly toasty malts, hints of toffee, caramelized elements, and very satisfying.
