The best
The best podcast out there on national security issues.

One of the best
This show is a rare find. It’s intelligent, fair and informative. It’s a text book example of focusing on the signal, not the noise. It would serve this country well if cable news could come anywhere close to the level of discourse this program consistently offers. Episode with Alon Pinkas is superb and look forward to seeing him more.

Hopefully there’s more in 2021
Hopefully there’s more episodes of this great intelligence podcast. They were heavily producing counterintelligence episodes in 2020 after a few years layoff. Hopefully there’s more episodes coming in 2021.

Always relevant and important
This podcast had great guests and great interviews in the past. hope this comes back even if it’s just quarterly or something. Really informative and interesting and timely topics. Need more like this! I listened before and am so happy this has come back. Eager to share with younger people I work with a lot of good info on the pitfalls and dangers some people working in industry may not even be aware of. Good guests, good insight, look forward to this always.

Giving this a try
My first episode (Obey) gave me, a civilian, considerable pause, when the guest compared how her children come to her to chat/negotiate a later curfew with a soldier who might want to chat/negotiate the use of helicopters and going in without unit identification unidentified to quell protests in DC, Portland, you name it, with his commander. The power dynamics and the response times in play are worlds apart. No soldier ordered to climb into their helo during an active citizen conflict on the streets is going to “chat” with his superior about the Constitutionality of his orders. In addition, the top down encouragement of the current Executive Branch for maximum authoritarian measures against citizen demonstrators poisons the climate for any commander who might otherwise want to pause to consider the broader Constitutional implications of demonstration suppression tactics. As a 75-year old, I’ve seen the “Obey” issue dealt with poorly both during our several off-shore wars and in our many citizen street protests. The moms in the military aren’t negotiating teenage curfews - they’re being asked to set the rules of engagement for grownups against grownups. Slanted education of commanders about the thorny “Obey” issue is once again, as in the 60s, going to determine the national dynamic between citizen vs. military for the next facade or two. We’re approaching one of those cultural turning points once again, street by street. Not doing so well right now, guys...

Don’t call it a comeback
I didn’t realize how much I appreciated this show until it disappeared. John and the excellent guests he routinely manages to get provide thoughtful, knowledgable, and sober analysis of current events. I’m grateful to have this show back.

Re-emergence of Covert Contact

Long Two Years?
Had been an avid listener; discovered the show just before the last episode dropped prior to the sabbatical. As a 30-year veteran and the US natsec community now living in Australia went back and listened to everything and loved it - lots of Australia connection and great interviews. This new show was an extreme disappointment; low energy, wandering, no real discussion and sounded like no one wanted to be doing the podcast. Am hopeful the next will be relevant and worth a listen.

Leading and biased interviews.
Didn’t like the host constantly interjecting. Please let the guest talk. Became collaboration, rather than independent opinions.

FAR LEFT LEANING PODCAST!!!
Be warned that this host and all his cherry picked guests are ANTI-TRUMP “collusion delusion” maniacs. Every episode seems to be banishing the POTUS with a snarky, condescending liberal view on everything he stands for. #MAGA #NOCOLLUSION #READTHEREPORT 🇺🇸

Unlike so many other shows that I hear I have yet to see a political bent only very good information

Really wide range of issues covered in some depth and at a good pace. From crypto currencies to lock picking, I was surprised by how easily John and his episode guest brought me in. This podcast is an easy subscribe. I’m pretty happy when each episode drops.

Definitely worth your time
John’s thoughtful analysis and his expert guests make this podcast entertaining and educational. It is accessible for anyone from security professionals to laypeople who want to know a little more about the world.

Good conversational look at current issues.
I feel like the podcast is a good dialogue podcast that is easy to get into with getting bogged down in jargon. 5 stars

Excellent Security Podcast
Always even-handed, covers a wide variety of topics, and includes a diversity of guests that give me a great respect for our security professionals. Analytical and accessible, the best of both worlds.

Considered, Objective and Informative
One of my favorite Intelligence-related podcasts. The creator is considered and well-spoken, and has interesting guests with informative backgrounds. Highly recommend for accurate "intel" aka information.

Incredible. Must listen.
This is one of THE (and I don't use all caps lightly) podcasts you need to—and must—be listening to to have a more nuanced and multifaceted understanding of some the most salient geopolitical and national security issues facing us now. If you know anything about anything, then you know this podcast IS a must listen. I can't recommend this podcast enough. Tell your friends. Tell your family. Listen to this podcast and gain a deeper understanding of the world beneath the surface of current affairs.

One of the few covering these topics. Insightful, and informative information w/ relevant guests. Bias isn't overbearing but could be better

Objective assessments
Blogs of War-Cover Contact provides rare sober analysis, from an informed insider's perspective, of today's seemingly intractable national security environment.

My go-to
I live in DC and study national security issues. Covert Contact is my go-to. Production is great, and the conversations are a good mix of expert and casual (the casual aspect makes the things interesting beyond just the issues). I'm a huge fan of the Bombshell too!

Great National Secutity Podcast
John Little is an excellent podcaster. He alway provides an informative and thought provocating program for anyone intrested in national securtiy issues. Cool guests and a good banter makes listening enjoyable. I often find myself nodding yes to Little and his guests take on the present.
Angelo@NYC
it's great
Too often the echo gets so loud it is difficult to hear what is really happening. With so little "real analysis" in the constant stream, John Little and his guests provide a welcome synthesis of the Historical and the Now.

Informative, succinct, well-done
Great podcast. Host and guests are well-informed and to the point - no wasted time rambling. The sound quality is also great

Solid News/Opinion resource
Thoughtful and thorough -- could be better titled "National Security Matters" -- as both Blogs of War and Covert Contact sound more extreme than the content itself. Give it a try....great guests that you won't generally see on cable news in a format that can get beyond soundbites

On of the best
It'd be difficult to find a better and more comprehensive podcast relating to national security and foreign affairs. Always has well reasoned and thoughtful discussions with top notch experts.

Very highly recommended.
Broad range of topics but never sacrifices detail or analysis. Great production value and discussion. Add it to your feed.

Worth your time
Hits the sweet spot in terms of content and segment length. Enjoy the analysis and insight from the hosts.

Excellent
Long-winded, and liberal. You can definitely tell this guy is politically left-wing and a Hillary supporter.
Cleese Chelate
Really?
Come on guys I don't think you're on that level yet to have a podcast lack of experience clearly displayed when you talked about Oregon and militias you can't really be that ignorant
Cannibal_cupcake
Excellent resource on intelligence and foreign affairs
The best podcast I've come across on intelligence and foreign affairs. John and his guests do an exceptional job of breaking down extremely complex issues in a fashion that is accessible and enjoyable to all. Whether you spend your career in intelligence or are simply interested in learning more, it's worth subscribing to. Five stars.

A great listen!
I have followed John Little and his work at Blogs of War for years and I can say that this podcast continues his tradition of offering a bleeding edge insight to the new era of open-source warfare and the effects on our world. His ability to procure content from nuanced sources that are typically missed in tofday's information overlaod world is outstanding. It's ecletic news for today's policy junkies.
