The Coventry Talking Newspaper is a long‑running audio service that brings local news, information, and community stories to blind and partially sighted residents in Coventry and the surrounding area. It exists to make local journalism and community updates accessible to people who cannot easily read printed newspapers.

A free service, available on multiple platforms including USB sticks, smart speakers, podcasts, and online streaming. 

 How People Listen
USB postal service: Listeners can receive each edition on a USB stick through the free Articles for the Blind scheme, then return it in a pre‑paid envelope. 

Smart speakers: Saying “Play Coventry Talking Newspaper” will play the latest edition. 

Podcasts: Episodes are available on platforms such as Apple Podcasts and Spotify. 

Online streaming: Editions can be played directly from the Talking Newspaper website.
